Haven’t decided on New Year’s Eve plans yet? That’s ok, it’s not too late! Here’s a recap of a fun Roaring 20’s speakeasy themed party cruise I did in Boston on New Year’s Eve with friends…
The cruise started on Music City Queen Riverboat in the Rowes Wharf part of Boston. Get there early if you want to be closer to the front of the line. We did and managed to snag a seat for the 3 of us upon boarding!

One thing you should know about the cruise is that it’s very laid back and pretty basic if you ask me, so don’t expect glamour. My friends and I were a bit surprised at this when we came on board. We were expecting something a little big flashier but were dressed to the nines and ready for a good time.

The DJ was awesome and took a lot of song requests from us playing a mix of old favorites and new hits. We danced the whole night just like the Flappers did in the 20s. Then, to cool off, we went outside of the boat to enjoy views of Boston’s beautiful skyline, ending the night with close up fireworks on Boston Harbor at midnight and a New Year’s champagne countdown!

The cruise is 3 hours, taking you from On board, there were also complimentary snacks (finger food), which we didn’t eat much of (probably explains why we were so drunk later that night). 😂 Just get them before everyone else does!

What to Wear in Boston on New Year’s Eve
Dress to impress! This is the Roaring 20’s after all. 😉 Amazon has some great Roaring 20s Gatsby costume sets, which is where my friends and I got our outfits.

Flapper Style for Women
Add lots of sparkle to your wardrobe, a bold red lip and don’t forget the 20s up-do with a feather, crystal headband! I also wore a long fur coat and gloves for some glamour. Or, be a mafia girl boss with some suspenders and a top hat. Ladies, for outfit essentials shop here.

Flapper Style for Men
Gentleman, don’t be afraid to have fun with the theme! I even saw guys wearing zoot suits. They looked like they were right out of a mafia film! Shop for outfit essentials here.
The Party Don’t Stop in Boston on New Year’s Eve!
We didn’t want the night to end, we were having so much fun! After the we docked at the pier, we went into Rowes Wharf Hotel, where there was a live jazz band playing! It has a much more elegant atmosphere, we fit right in, ordering one too many cocktails and dancing the night away.

That’s a Wrap!
